Half Way to One, All the Way to Fun

And here we are!  Emmalee is half a year old and we are dumb founded by how fast the time has flown! How do you count the joyful moment that can occur in 180 days?  How can you count the lessons learned, hours of sleep lost, or the amount of laughter that accompanies the life of new parents!?! You can't, and on top of it,  we would be lying if we said that we were not a little bit sad about this day. While it is so exciting and special, it also makes us relies how incredibly precious each moment with our little one is, and how we have to absorb EVERY little milestone.  Literally one day she is barely opening her eyes and the next we can't keep her still for one second.  This month was insanely fun, and so full of cool new firsts!  One thing we can't get over is how everything is a FIRST for Emmalee, feeling grass, going in a pool, getting up on all fours, feeling sand, grabbing leaves, or eating "solid" food!!  We too have had so many first this past 6 months!  Realizing you won't die without sleep...(yet)...., how to juggle a poopy diaper, a phone call, burning food, and tears!  And more than anything, we have learned how to look at life through the eyes of parents, and could not feel more blessed and fulfilled.  While it may seem silly to say how time flies in 6 months, I know so many who say the same with kids going to college or getting married, but it has the same impact in such a short time.  We know that the next 180 days will be just as exciting as the first, and are so excited for all that they hold...walking, talking, eating, etc.  But, we REALLY hope they go by a bit slower this time around!

THIS MONTHS FAVORITE MOMENTS:

1. Emmalee is up on all fours, army crawling and doing downward dog in an effort to either walk or stretch her calves!
2. Eating rice cereal...she was not a fan at first, but who would be?
3. Going in a pool for the first time, I think mom was more excited about her cute swim suit.
4. Feeling the waters of Lake Chelan!
5. Even more personality, laughing so hard and loud it sounds like a little girl, not just a little baby.
6. Rice cereal, she either loves it, or loves the spoon in her mouth!
7. Teething, and putting EVERYTHING in her mouth, not too mention non stop drool.
8. Grass...does she love it, hate it, or just find it fascinating?  Jury is still out, but she is definitely into pulling it out of our lawn!
9. MOVING!!! MOVING!!!! MOVING!!!  Emmalee has grown "taller", but has gone down in her weight percentage, which of course concerned us, until the doc said it was because she is such a little busy body and that it was normal and great!
10. Her new favorite toy, her play center!  Who would not love it, she gets to stand and play with toys right at her level.  Not too mention, the music the toy plays is pretty sweet too ; )!!
11. Loving little people.  She stares at anyone remotely close to her own size and has the best time with her cousins, who make her laugh even when they are not in sights view.
12. Emmalee LOVES her new cell phone from Grandma Lindeman.  It is pink, plastic, has buttons, and oh yeah, speaks Spanish!  What else could a 6 month old ask for??!!
13.  We celebrated Emmalee's 6 month birthday by taking her to the Mt. Si Nursery and helped her pick out a plant.  When we got home we planted it all together and will watch it grow for the next 6 months!!!  By the way, the plant is a Flux flower, color bright eyes....we thought it was very fitting for our little blue eyed angel.
